Feature Band – The St. John’s Riverboat Jazz Band from Visalia, CA, was founded in 1996 when members of a college traditional jazz band decided to stick together after their class was cancelled. Originally named the Tule Basin Jazz Band from College of the Sequoias, this group of young musicians continued playing upbeat traditional/Dixieland jazz music, with their own little spin. Over the last 29 years, many members have come and gone, but original members Fank Cardoza, Jason Hughes, and Mario Marquez continue to bring their own spin on this genre of fun music.
Intermission Band – The intermission band will be The Riverboat Rustlers, a new traditional jazz band made up of young students from the Fresno and Clovis area. Most of the musicians are new freshman, having performed in local county or All-State honor bands. As the Riverboat Rustlers begin their high school journey, their mission is to entertain, learn, and enjoy the fellowship of making good music. They would like to thank the Joe Lenigan Big Band and St. John’s Riverboat Jazz Band for their mentorship!
